It is Nearly Blooming Great Tea Party Time!

Posted on June 21, 2017

It’s nearly time for the Blooming Great Tea Party weekend, and if you’re not quite ready then don’t panic! Here’s some useful hints and tips, plus links to some easy and delicious recipes for you.

In your tea party pack you have lots of useful resources, including bunting, balloons, photo props for fun selfies. Don’t forget to share your silliest moments online using #cakeface. You can find more helpful resources here.

Don’t forget to ask for help! In my experience, friends and family love to pitch in.

Keep organised. Write to do lists, follow them and (as above) delegate!

Pick great recipes to impress your guests. All of my recipes are so simple to follow and they’re especially great for getting the children or grandchildren involved. I will of course be making this years’ official campaign cake – Banana and Chocolate Cake. I also love Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies. I try and bake these just before my guests arrive, so the house smells of baking – who knows, it may encourage people to donate more! And my Butterscotch Mini Muffins are super simple and from start to finish take less than 20 minutes.

And you know what, it’s also ok to buy in cake too! Your Blooming Great Tea Party should be about raising as much money as possible for the incredible Marie Curie nurses. If that means cheating a little with shop bought goodies, asking your friends to bring along a cake then it really doesn’t matter. Just make sure you have fun and enjoy the experience!

Thank you so much for hosting and I can’t wait to see pictures from your tea parties and to hear how much you’ve raised. Don’t forget, there’s a photo competition with a chance to win a hamper when you email or post in your best party snaps too!

Enjoy and a big well done in advance!
