Life’s Simpler Pleasures

As the pressures of modern life begin to rain down on us, from mortgage payments to buying the kids the latest iPad, it can be easy to forget the simple things in life. Next time you’re feeling a little stressed, why not sit back and take the time to appreciate some of these simpler pleasures?

Tea with friends:

Sometimes we’re all in need of a little pick me up, and to quote the old British adage, a cup of tea really does solve everything. Having a catch up with friends over a cuppa and a cheeky slice of cake can help you get things off your chest; after all – a problem shared is a problem halved. If you don’t fancy the pressure of hosting, take the time to look around your local town for quaint tea shops, who’ll be happy to cater for your every need while you gossip the day away.

Snuggling up in bed:

Your bed can be one of life’s simplest and yet, most taken for granted pleasures. There’s no end to the comfort your bed can bring you, from freshly changed sheets to switching over to the cool side of the pillow. If the prospect of a lazy Sunday in bed sounds horrifying to you, the latest offers at bedstar can help to revive your slumber space and make it the haven of relaxation it once was!

Retail therapy:

When we’re feeling low, there’s nothing better to make us feel fabulous again than trying on new clothes. Even if you have absolutely no intention of buying the outfit, there’s no better feeling than that instant ‘wow’ when that gorgeous dress you’ve been eyeing up is the perfect fit, or those glam shoes are actually much easier to walk in than you thought. Why not make it a bit of fun by picking out the most outrageous outfits for your friends to try on and instagramming the results?

Get baking!

Last but by no means least, who could forget the simple joys of baking? There’s no greater satisfaction that getting your hands dirty to create your own perfect project, be it making a birthday cake for your friend or spending Sunday afternoons baking cupcakes! The juice is certainly almost worth the squeeze – who could say no to a batch of yummy cakes – and it’s also a great chance to bond with your baking partner, be they friend or family!

So now that you’ve got a list of simple pleasures in which to indulge, why not get started on enjoying life’s simple pleasures today.

Be back soon
