Hans Sloane Hot Chocolate

Posted on December 1, 2014

I’m very lucky because I often get products sent to me for me to review and when the lovely people at Hans Sloane Chocolates sent me some of their drinking chocolate beads I was very excited to see (well actually taste) what they were like!

Back in the 17th century it was Sir Hans Sloane who brought his own innovation to the chocolate drink market. On a visit to Jamaica he tried the local drink, cocoa mixed with water, which he found nauseating, so being a botanist and a physician he mixed various recipes till he came up with the idea of mixing cocoa with Milk and some sugar. So began the UK’s love affair with all things milk chocolate! Taking inspiration from Sir Hans Sloane, Hans Sloane Chocolate’s Master Chocolatier wanted to bring something different to the drinking chocolate market and hit on the idea of pure chocolate beads which you would simply melt with hot milk or water to give you melted chocolate, giving you a real chocolatey taste!

All I can say is WOW! Here you have a really chocolatey tasting hot chocolate that is sweet, creamy and luxurious! What’s also brilliant about Hans Sloane Hot Chocolate is that you can mix their delicious hand made chocolate beads with milk or hot water (perfect for my Mr P who doesn’t like milk!)

I love a hot drink before bed to relax & unwind and especially in this cold weather I need something warming and comforting! Hans Sloane Hot Chocolate is just that! What’s also fabulous, is that these shiny chocolate beads are great to bake with – I can’t wait to have a play!

I really recommend you try, & you can find Hans Sloane Hot Chocolate in major supermarkets, online & in lots of other retailers.
