Summer Catch Up Time

Posted on August 4, 2017

Helloooo,

How is your summer going? As I write this it is absolutely pouring with rain outside and the kids are driving each other…and me mad!! Send help…and wine!!

Things have been super busy here. My son finished Primary School and that involved lots of fun events (and lots of tears from Mummy). We have also had one child taking (and passing) Grade 1 Piano, one child taking (and passing) Grade 1 Clarinet, and three children winning 6 medals at Sports Day! I am a very proud and very exhausted Mummy and I am glad for the slightly slower pace that the summer holidays bring.

Before the holidays I enjoyed some brilliant times promoting Marie Curie’s Blooming Great Tea Party with John Lewis. I spent time at Peter Jones Sloane Square talking to customers in The Place to Eat, and I demoed Tea Party perfect recipes in John Lewis Oxford Street:

It was a great honour to represent Marie Curie and I am excited to be meeting up with them in September to already discuss next year!! Oh and don’t forget to pay in the money that you raised at your tea party!

I was back at Foodies Festival at the beginning of July, this time in Blackheath. The weather was SO hot. I nearly melted into a big puddle on the floor! Much fun and hilarity was had – check out these expressive pictures 🙂 We also had A LOT of fun backstage and it was especially great to meet Nicola Millbank and Masterchef’s Lorna Robertson. I can not wait for Alexandra Palace at the end of this month! I will be demoing at The Cakes and Desserts Theatre all 3 days of the festival and twice a day! (As I write this, the Foodies Festival website has not been updated, but I can assure you I will be there!)

Keep checking the Appearances section of my blog. I have a few things in the pipeline that I would have loved to have been able to tell you about, but I can’t just yet….

I have eaten out a fair amount since I last blogged: I enjoyed a date day with Mr P in Primrose Hill including a delicious lunch at Oka. A day out with the girls to Edith’s House in Crouch End, where we ate lunch sitting on a bed, and others ate sitting on a toilet!! Dinner at The Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield thanks to a groupon offer. The BEST cardamom bun and rye bread at Karma Bread in Hampstead. A sister’s spa weekend and great food at The Runnymede Hotel and family meals at Melissa, The Waffle House and Pizza Express.

I will be back with more competitions, more news and more food at the end of the summer. For now I am taking some time to keep the children entertained. To see what I am up to, follow me on all of my social media – facebook, twitter & instagram. I try where possible to post different things on each and over on instagram I am really enjoying posting instagram stories. Come and take a look! 🙂

And don’t forget to get my book!

The recipes in Miracle Mug Cakes and Other Cheat’s Bakes are super easy and make great summer holiday activities with the kids – especially when the weather is so dreary! And mug cakes are the ideal quick fix cake. In fact, this was highlighted when I went out with my Dad to the Open Air Theatre and he fancied a dessert on the way home. No where was open, so he came back to mine and I whipped up a quick mug cake!

Sweet tooth satisfied in minutes 🙂

Have a great Summer and I will be back soon!

P.S. This is me and a gnome I found in ASDA – she is a baking gnome!! 🙂
